Want to Volunteer? You would be a great help if you would! We are an organization in which our members take on many different roles and responsibilities - all designed to use their skills and interests to help one another. Seniors who know something about computers become teachers for the cyber-age. Seniors with office and administrative skills help our small staff by providing reception services and/or assume membership in our organizations many management committees. Others use their cars, and some even walk, to deliver our monthly magazine Vista to members. If you would like to be a volunteer, we can use you.... Whatever your talents and interests. In a lifetime of learning, serving as a volunteer is a chance to try something new and rewarding. Why not try it? You do not have to be a senior to volunteer. Volunteer Opportunities With the first phase of renovations complete, our need for
volunteers to help man the new facilities will never be greater, a couple of these
include:
Vista Distribution Coordinator: A dynamic and organized person is needed to coordinate the distribution of our monthly Vista magazine.
Bakers/Cooks/Servers: If you enjoy baking, cooking and being around people, consider joining our team of volunteers to prepare foods for the Rendez-Vous Café and Dining Room.
Rendez-Vous Café: Summer
is upon us and many of our volunteers are taking time off. We need people who can
take their place. Front Desk/Reception: We are looking for volunteers to work at the reception desk. If you enjoy meeting people, feel comfortable on the telephone, and enjoy working in a busy atmosphere, give us a call. With the
expansion of our dining room and kitchen, we need volunteers to help serve and clear
lunches for our Diners Club Program.
Manicurist: We
would like to provide manicures for our members and we are looking for a volunteer with
this experience to take on the job. If
interested please give us a call.
Renovations: We’re looking for volunteers to help with the renovations happening at the Seniors Centre.
Marketing/Communications: A creative, organized person with computer skills is need to assist in marketing functions.
Friendly Visiting: Spend some quality time with isolated seniors in our community. Laugh and share memories over a good cup of tea. Remember…tea is always better when it’s poured for two!
Medical Drivers: We are urgently looking for drivers that could help in assisting seniors get to medical appointments.
If you have a few hours per week available,
